Eighteen Skyliners turned out in tents and RVs to enjoy the weekend. Spirits weren't dampened by a wee bit of rain on Friday, as temperatures were kept comfortable by a light overcast much of the weekend. Good company, good food around the campfire, and a good time was had by all!
All you can eat sushi. All you can eat sushi. YUM!!!
Actually, there were also dozens of tasty cooked foods to chose from at Makato's Japanese Buffet in Vancouver. A dozen of us were there to enjoy the food and company on May 12. We especially enjoyed meeting Gwen who was attending her first Skyliner event. Sharon, Robert, Erica, Jim and Teresa had a moment to pose with the famous Oscar Mayer icon on St. Johns Parade day, May 9.
Our Miss Tall Portland Erica Hand—and Mr. Tall Portland Robert Hicks—really turned heads at the St. Johns Parade on May 9. Joining them were Skyliners Kate, Michele, Mike, Ryan, and Sharon.
Larry had suffered a brain aneurism on May 9 while helping Cheryl coordinate the Skyliners' entry in the St. Johns Parade. He never regained consciousness, and a celebration of life was held at the Milwaukee American Legion Post 180 on June 13. At least a dozen Skyliners were there to meet Larry's family and other friends, and to put an arm around Cheryl at this difficult time.
